Church claims credit for Congress crown

For anyone who feels that the church in India does not have any poilitcal ambitions, here is a shocker. But for many of us, its not a surprise at all, just that they have admitted  to it in public. The church is claiming credit for the UDF win in Kerala. With this I think their next target would be India as a whole. The Hindu temples are being taken over by the government and the government inturn is taken over by the Church. Wow thats a nice way to take control of a country.

What i dont understand is that when Hindu religious sadhus/priests ask for people to support a party that party is termed as “communal”, whille the church and the mullahs  asks for people to support  someone the party automatically becomes “secular”.

But we got to hand it to them, when the church or the mullahs urge their community to vote for a party, the whole community votes enmass for that party. When a hindu religious head asks for the same he is branded communal by his own people and they vote for a “secular” party which anyway is getting “minority” votes courtesy the church and the mullah’s

All you “secular” people, this post is dedicated to you. And also to those people who think that religion is a personal choice and it has got nothing to do with the government in a democracy. So much for democracy and secularism.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Left is yet to come to terms with its humiliating defeat in Kerala. If the CPI(M) politburo wants any answers, the Catholic Church has it. Kerala Catholic Bishops’ Conference, which openly campaigned for the Congress in the run-up to the elections, claims it is their victory.

“This is an answer to those who said the faithful would not follow the advice of priests and bishops in political affairs. The Church has worked that hard against the LDF government,” said Dr Stephen Alathara, spokesmen of KCBC, the apex body of Catholic bishops in Kerala.

A pastoral letter by the KCBC, read out amid Sunday Mass in Kerala’s churches a fortnight ahead of the polls, exhorted the flock to steer clear of the CPI(M) and the BJP, a negligible presence in the bipolar state. “Constitutional crises are frequent nowadays. The violations of minority rights in education sector should be assessed in this context.”

No peace but surely a Church in Afghanistan!

US soldiers have been encouraged to spread the message of their Christian faith among Afghanistan’s predominantly Muslim population, video footage obtained by Al Jazeera appears to show.

[..]

“The special forces guys – they hunt men basically. We do the same things as Christians, we hunt people for Jesus. We do, we hunt them down,” he says.

These guys stop at nothing, absolutely nothing, they can stoop down to any lengths to convert people. They are out to preach religion(christianity) to a country that has been ravaged because of the very same reason, Religion(radical Islam). Do these people feel that in a country where people have nothing to eat,  religion will fill peoples stomach? Am actually now wondering  whether the reason for the war itself had a hidden agenda.

Afghanistan was a peaceful budhist place until hordes of Islamic attackers captured it and converted or killed everyone there. Now we have almost the same scenes taking place , except that the attackers and their religion is different. Are we seeing a rerun of history here?

Do they even have a sense of shame doing so? Am not against preaching your faith, but the places that they “hunt” is what abhors me. Why dont they try convincing educated and thinking people to convert?  Why dont they convert people from well to do families and dont need their “help” (in terms of cash) to live. They would not, for they know that their propoganda will fall flat on its face.

If the poor soul of Jesus Christ were to see what the church does in his name, I am sure that he would himself not want to be a part of the church. He might even convert back to being a Jew, or something else.  Yes I do believe so, he will really not want to be a part of this, third rated propoganda machinery.

Seven “Christians” Arrested for Damaging Church Property

If the police had not acted promptly to arrest the real culprits, the whole secular lot of “polticos, mainstream media and intellectuals” would have bayed for the blood of the BJP government in Karnatake. Am also wondering why the church authorities arent saying something?? or did their plan backfire? Below is the link where you can see news along with the photographs of the “church goers”

Mangalore, Mar 19: In connection with indulging in rampage in a banana plantation belonging to Babbukatte Nityadhar Church and trying to disrupt peace in the region, Ullal policemen arrested seven persons on Wednesday March 18.

They are Jayson Verghese (23), Vijit Sunny Rozario (21), Araki Alfred (20), Roshan Cutinho (26), all from Nityadhar Nagar and Ronald Roshan (22), a resident of Kuttar Prakash Nagar. They were produced in the court on Wednesday.

On Monday morning, the banana plantation was found to have been damaged heavily to look as if people belonging to a particular community had barged into the plantation, and a saffron flag had been planted there, signifying that Hindu outfits had been involved with the destruction. The incident took place at a time when Hindu Samajotsav was being organized in the city.

The policemen said that during interrogation, the arrested persons revealed, they wanted to disturb the peace in the region by projecting the incident as a handiwork of a particular community.

While making inquiries about those who inflicted the above damage, the policemen could by chance, lay their hands on the two accused, who had burnt down a motor bike on November 30 near Pandit House. Joy D’Souza (20) and Calvin Johnson D’Souza, from Nityadhar Nagar, accused of this act, were arrested and produced in the court on Wednesday. The policemen are also looking at the possibility of these two having been also involved with the destruction of the banana plantation.

Under the guidance of the city rural inspector Lingappa Poojary, Ullal sub-inspector of police Shivprakash has been conducting investigation.

Priest admits to idol worship in churches

And I thought that the saffron brigade was the one to be blamed for spreading rumors that the church involves in conversions “by any means”.

BANGALORE: In a revelation that could have widespread ramifications, Father Joseph Menengis, priest of St James Church in Mariyannapalya, Bangalore, confessed before the Justice B K Somashekara Commission of Inquiry on Wednesday that idol worship was being performed in churches to attract Hindus and convert them to Christianity.

The Commission is inquiring into the recent attacks on churches in Karnataka.“Hindus believe in idol worship. So to attract them to Christianity, idol worship is performed in churches,” Menengis said.

During cross-examination, the priest said that “despite idol worship being prohibited in Bible, we have idol worship in churches.” “The duty of every Christian is to convert non-Christians to Christianity by any means,” the priest told the commission.

St James Church was attacked by miscreants on September 21, 2008.The church is running co-education institutions, with classes from first to eight standard.

During cross-examination the priest confessed that “no girl students are permitted to use kumkum, bangles and wear flowers. In our institution, we have moral science textbook. But it does not contain texts regarding Holy Bible and Jesus,” the priest added. The commission has requested the priest to submit the textbook to it.
