Hindu Statement

Its not a Religious Statement, Its a Cultural Statement!!!

No to Gandhiji in Australia, “secular” yes to chaplin in India. What a shame!!

Australian city has said no to naming a street as mahatma gandhi marg because “will name streets of which have a historical or cultural significance of Australia and/or of those who have resided as a local resident for a considerable time” . In India we have our “seculars and intellectuals” crying foul when the locals said no to the statue of Chaplin in front of a temple. Good Going India, lick all the white mans and jihadi’s shoes while you can, because sooner or later one among these will screw up our country anyway.

Australia’s sixth largest city Gold Coast has said no to the request of naming a street after peace icon Mahatma Gandhi.

Replying to a plea of Gandhi Monument Council headquartered in USA, Ron Clarke, Gold Coast mayor, said, “…Council’s Street Naming department will not be able to support the request. Following Council’s Street Naming Guidelines Section S.1.4., Council will name streets of which have a historical or cultural significance of Australia and/or of those who have resided as a local resident for a considerable time.”
Right Reverend Gene Savoy Jr. and Rajan Zed, Council coordinators, in a communiqué to the City of Gold Coast, had urged to name one of the major streets of Gold Coast after Mahatma Gandhi, preferably to be called Mahatma Gandhi Marg (“marg” means path). While Savoy is Head Bishop of International Community of Christ, Zed is the president of Universal Society of Hinduism.
The Gandhi Monument Council is formed of Christian (various denominations), Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish, Baha’i, Native American, etc., clergy. According to Zed and Savoy, the purpose of this Council is to commemorate Gandhi’s philosophy of non-violence, his commitment to world peace, and his work for the upliftment of the downtrodden.

“2 killed as police open fire in Varanasi” over holi colors again.

Clashes over a holi colors splashed on the wall of a mosque.  The color should not have been splashed on the walls, and also the retort should not have been throwing stones on a locality. I think we can be a bit more accomodative….or may be not, its India after all.

Two persons were killed and at least 14 others, including half a dozen policemen, injured on Wednesday as police opened fire to disperse members of two communities who clashed in Varanasi during Holi celebrations.

SSP Varanasi P C Meena said police opened fire to quell violence that broke out during Holi celebrations near Gausiya Masjid in Bajardiha locality under the Bhelupur police station in Varanasi.

Those killed have been identified as Shafikur and Md Moin of Bajardiha area. Their bodies have been sent for postmortem.

“Trouble started after some Muslim youth saw a splash of colour on the wall of the Gausia mosque and they pelted stones on a nearby Hindu locality. Police immediately swung into action and surrounded the area and fired teargas to control the situation,” Meena said.

The etiquette to being a “Secular” Indian.

There are etiquette’s for almost everything from talking on the phone to clearing your bladder at the toilet, so it is imperative that we have an etiquette to be a secular indian.

Here are a few and if incase you can add to these, please do so.

  • First and the foremost, if you see anything mentioning hinduism and hindu, automatically relate it to the rightwing hindutva brigand.Anything related to other religions is considered Secular.
  • If a group of goons threaten an author about bringing disrepute to anyother religion apart from Hinduism call them as “activists”, while goons threatening some one in the name of Hinduism call them “Hooligans”.
  • If a missionary forcefully converts some one to christianity call it as his/her fundamental right to propogate his religion. But if someone tries to “reconvert” them, call them well.you know… rightwing.
  • Make a hell of a noise about the “right wing” beating up girls in mangalore and dont even look at the episode about a pakistani student being beaten up in mumbai.
  • Make a fuss about a hindu marrying the second time when his wife is still alive but defend the constitutional right of a muslim man to marry more than once.
  • Never negate the aryan invasion theory even if you dont know what it is, and whether its right or wrong. Believe in it for the only reason that the “right wing” is against it.
  • Cry your heart out because muslims are not allowed into the mainstream, while any muslim who wanted to make it big in the main stream has done it without any kind of opposition from the majority.
  • Talk about the muslim presecution in the gaza strip, even of you dont know what Hamas did and are doing. Heck you need not even know where Israel and the gaza strip is.
  • Talk about gaza when you dont have a clue about what the kashmiri pandits are going through.
  • Relate every militant attack on the Kashmir issue while you are blissfully unaware of the ulterior motives of the militants.
  • Enter the words “Hindu Talibanisation” into your vocabulary, and use it when ever you can.
  • And yeah believe that Obama is the savior of the world and follow his every move, while you need not have a clue of who the vice president of india is.
